Greetings my people,
Okay, so I have been reading a lot about abstinence-only, comprehensive, and broad-based sex education and what parents, students, and teachers have to say about all of these forms. I have decided to make a video of me dishing out some issues in a scattered manner. I am getting better at my video making skills, so I have a feeling you will enjoy this whether it is because I'm wearing a hat, or because I have interesting things to say.

Great post Sarah! So much truth. I wish that in my sex ed classes they had talked more about using two kinds of birth control. They made it seem like one or the other would suffice. I also wished they'd talked about peer pressure more, not in terms of having sex, but safe sex. They talked about how it's wrong for guys to pressure you to have sex and that you should just say no, but they didn't talk about what to do if you want to have sex, but the guy is pressuring you into doing it without a condom... what then!? They never covered that little tidbit.

As for the admittedly more important educational points, they are excellent of course. Way to spread the word. I'm doin' what I can.
Amanda - Yes! Often when people think preventive methods in terms of sex they think condoms OR birth control.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Peer pressure in lack of condoming... I love it! I will do some research and post something about it. Thank you for the incite. You are super right though! Often it's "it feels better without one" or "come on, don't you trust me?"
The latter is a huge issue... To which I would say "yes, so I trust that you will put on a condom".
Z- I say bagel weird. Everyone tells me. It's not an accent thing. It's just me. :) And my beautifully odd self.
